Hats for Hope is a silent auction of Derby hats and other donated services and merchandise. The event is hosted by volunteers associated with KFC/Yum! Brands, Inc. and UFPC, and all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society to support Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

Over the past 7 years, Hats for Hope has generated $275,000 for the American Cancer Society to support lifesaving research, prevention, early detection, and programs to help breast cancer patients and their families. Breast cancer is a pervasive disease that strikes without warning. A woman has a 1 in 8 chance of being diagnosed with this disease in her lifetime. Most people know someone close – a mother, sister, daughter, or friend – who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. And it not only affects the woman, it also has a profound effect on her family.
